Wall Street climbs for second straight day

US stock indices rose on Wednesday for another session, buoyed by optimism on US-China trade talks and energy gains. 

 

Chinese outlets reported president Xi Jinping will meet the US delegation to Beijing this week to discuss hanging issues. 

 

The energy sector was buoyed by higher oil prices, with US West Texas up 0.8% to $53.9 a barrel, with a session-high at $54.1. 

 

Brent rallied 1.7% to $63.5 a barrel, with an intraday high at $63.6 a barrel. 

 

As of 15:09 GMT, Dow Jones rose 0.5% to 25,556, while Nasdaq powered up 0.3% to 7,437, as Standard and Poor's 500 added 0.4% to 2,756.
