US stock indices opened lower on Monday, as the market continued to focus on the US political developments after last week's events.

Thousands of Trump supporters last week stormed the US Capitol building, which was condemned by congressional officials and world leaders.

Despite US President Donald Trump denouncing the event and his calls on supporters to return home, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called on Vice President Mike Pence to impeach Trump.

The season of the US business quarterly reports starts this week, which affects the movement of major stocks, such Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, Facebook, Amazon and Tesla.

As for stocks, Dow Jones fell 0.4% or 135 points to 31,0962 as of 15:06 GMT, Nasdaq fell 0.8% or 107 points to 13,094, and S&P 500 fell 0.5% or 19 points to 3,805.
