US stocks rise to fresh record highs

US stock indices opened higher on Thursday, and hit fresh record highs amid focus on President Joe Biden's upcoming decisions.

 

Biden was sworn into office on Wednesday to become the US President for the next 4 years.

 

Biden unveiled a $2 trillion coronavirus relief bill to support the US economy from the coronavirus crisis impact.

 

The initial unemployment claims in the US fell to 900,000 last week, beating forecasts of 935,000.

 

As for stocks, Dow Jones rose 0.1% or 23 points to 31,211 as of 15:20 GMT, Nasdaq rose 0.4% or 60 points to 13,517, and S&P 500 rose 0.1% or 5 points to 3,857.
