US stocks rise on trade talk hopes

US stocks opened higher today, to extend gains for the second straight sessions on increased market's hopes about the trade the US-China trade talks.

 

President Trump announced the delaying of the $250 billion tariffs increase on Chinese imports for nearly two weeks in a good will gesture, until October 15th.

 

Experts see that Trump wants to pave the way for constructive negotiations between Washington and Beijing, which will begin in October while aiming for a long-term trade agreement.

 

The US Commerce Department revealed today that the retail sales rose by 0.4% in August.

 

As of 15:03 GMT, Dow Jones rose by 0.2% or 58 points to 27,239 points, Nasdaq rose by 0.1% or 7 points to 8,201, and S&P 500 rose by 0.2% or 5 points to 3,015.
