US stocks fell on Tuesday as concerns about the US-China trade dispute continued, while the markets' focus shifted to the G20 summit, which will be held in Japan later this month.

US retail sales rose 0.5% in May, while manufacturing production rose 0.4% in the same month, government data showed.

US President Donald Trump said a possible meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping is not important to him, though it would be good if the Chinese President attended, while his country would receive billions of dollars from China in tariffs if he did not show up.

However, Trump stressed that China will eventually seek a trade deal with America.

Trump stressed that the trade war is more damaging to China than to America, and that companies will leave Beijing and come to the United States.

As of 14:25 GMT, Dow Jones fell by 0.2% (equivalent to 53 points) to 2,6053 points, Nasdaq slipped 0.5% (41 points) to 7,795 points, while S&P fell by 0.2% (3 points) to 2883 points.
