US stocks close higher amid trade optimism

US stocks rose today as the markets hopes for the US-China trade talks returned in addition to concerns over the US recession easing.

 

President Trump said that US economy will continue to grow and ruled out a near recession.

 

Trump said that the trade talks with China are going very well, after his decision last week to delay the tariffs increase on several Chinese imports until mid-December.

 

In the oil market, West Texas Intermediate rose by 2.4% to close at $56.21 a barrel, with a high of $56.4 and a low of $54.8.

 

Brent rose 1.9% to $59.74 a barrel, with a high of $59.9 and a low of $58.4.

 

Dow Jones rose by 0.9% or 249 points to close at 26,135 points, with a high of 26,222 points and a low of 26,020.

 

Nasdaq rose by 1.3% or 107 points to 8003 points, with a high of 8,026 and a low of 7,974.

 

S&P 500 rose by 1.2% or 35 points to 2,923 points, with a high of 2,931 points and a low of 2,913.
