US stock indices rose on Friday amid concerns about recession in the world's largest economy.
Fed Chair Jerome Powell asserted in his Congressional testimony the Fed's commitment to policy tightening to control inflation even if such measures led to recession.
He however admitted that rate hikes alone wouldn't be enough to control food and fuel prices in the US.
Dow Jones rose 1.9% to 31,277 as of 14:29 GMT, while S&P 500 climbed 2.2% to 3,881, as NASDAQ rose 2.6% to 11,530.
