At 13:30 GMT, the US economy released its durable goods orders reading, which rose by 0.6% in December, higher than forecast of 1.2%, and also higher than the previous reading of a decline by 2.1%.
While the core durable goods orders (excluding transportation items) fell by 0.1%, lower than forecast of a rise by 0.4%, and unchanged from the previous reading.
