Euro steadied in European trade versus dollar near weak lows as demand weakens amid improving global market appetite and bolstering US data.

EUR/USD last traded at 1.1088, with a session-high at 1.1102, after closing down 0.4% on Friday.

Euro marked a week low at 1.1086 against dollar on Friday after strong housing data in the US.

Last week, euro lost 0.3%, the third drop in a row and the longest such streak of losses since March 2019.

The dollar index rose less than 0.1% on Monday on track for the third profit, marking four-week highs at 97.67.

The dollar is bolstered by the US-China trade deal, which was signed last week, while US-Iran geopolitical tensions calmed as well, and as recent US data showed strong performances in the retail and housing sectors.
